经国土资源部批准，此行赴美考察矿产资源储量评估，共访问了美国内政部地质调查局等九个单位，对市场经济国家矿产资源储量评估的运作有了全面的了解，对矿产资源储量的概念、分类分级、矿床工业指标、矿产资源储量报告的编写与评审有了深化的认识，他们对矿业公司上市等的技术操作值得我们借鉴。

Sanctioned by the Ministry of Land and Resources, a team of geologists went to the United States for an investigation of its reserves assessment of mineral resources. In their visits to nine sections, Geology Survey included, the team acquired a comprehensive knowledge of the operation of reserves assessment of mineral resources in countries of market economy and deepened their understanding of the concept and classification of mineral resource reserves, the industrial index of mineral deposits, and the writing and appraising of reports of mineral resource reserves.
