我国都会经济区的形成及其界定

改革开放以来,在市场经济和全球化的双重作用下,我国经济持续快速发展。尤以沿海城市地区的经济增长和城市化最为迅速。围绕重要的沿海港口城市,城市的纵向提升和横向扩张并存,中心城市与周边农村的协同发展构成了一种新的地域类型,即都会经济区。在对相关概念的辨析及其形成机制进行理论探讨的基础上,文章提出都会经济区的界定方法论,并具体界定出了我国的北京、上海和香港三大都会经济区,探讨了它们的增长过程、发展特点及其空间动力机制,认为经济、可持续发展以及制度建设等方面的问题是我国都会经济区面临的严峻挑战。全球化是都会经济区快速增长的主要动力之一;随着我国对外开放程度的逐步加深,这一区域类型的集聚增长仍将继续,这给我国的区域、城市规划管理指出了新的发展方向。因此需要关注这一概念及其方法论的研究,以深入理解并指导快速全球化过程中我国的区域发展和城市化过程。

China's Extended Metropolitan Regions: Formation and Delimitation

Since the Open and Reform Policy in 1978,China has registered continuous and rapid economic growth through market forces and increasing globalization.Within this period,the country's most rapidly growing areas are the three clusters of cities in the coastal region.They are identified in this paper as the Extended Metropolitan Regions(EMRs).The paper will first discuss the concepts of EMR and deliberate on the method of their delimitation in China.It will then map out the growth and increasing significance of these regions in the Chinese economy and that globalization has been one of the major forces behind these EMRs' fast growth.In the conclusion,it is found that concentrated growth in the form of the EMRs will be a continuing and positive trend in China,and further attention to improving the EMR concept and the related study methods will enhance our understanding on China's regional development under intensified globalization.
