社会科学的研究对象是围绕着人进行的，问题在于把人看作是抽象的“人”，还是在现实中活动着的实在的人。单个的人只有在社会中才能存在和发展，所以，人在本质上是社会关系的总和。离开社会生产关系就不可能理解现实中的人的本质特征。全面自由发展的个人不是某些精英出于人道主义所设计的一种理想。而是生产力与生产关系发展的必然结果，是一种自然史过程。认识这一点，才能找到实现这一理想的现实途径。
