对联是我国高校校训的首选形式

一些学者有关"校训"一词外来之说颇为谬误,我国现代大学"校训"的前身应是古代书院"院训"。因受汉语的特殊性和科举制度的深远影响,大学校训多选择经典格言警句为主要内容,并多以工整美观的对联艺术为表现形式。随着当前高教事业的不断发展,越来越多的学校趋同于选择对联艺术形式和传统文化题材表达校训的深刻内涵。

Couplets is the First Choice of Form for School Motto in Universities

Some scholars' view about motto is incorrect.They think that the word of motto is foreign.Motto of modern universities grows out of ancient academy instruction.Influenced by Chinese characteristic and imperial examination system,most of college mottos take typical proverbs and old sayings,its form is antithesis,skillful and perfect.With the development of contemporary higher education,more and more universities tend to select couplet art form and traditional cultural theme to express the meaning of motto.
