体育旅游作为旅游产业与体育产业交叉产生的一个新的领域，在我国虽然还处在起步阶段，每年以30％至40％的速度快速发展。北京2008年北京奥运会提高了国民的体育参与意识，为体育旅游产业的发展提供了一个契机。然而我国体育旅游研究与国外存在较大的差距。从文献综述的角度，介绍了国外体育旅游研究的最新进展，对体育旅游的定义、内容、特点和作用等问题进行了探讨，并针对我国体育旅游发展现状，简单分析了我国体育旅游发展的前景。

An Introduction to Sport Tourism and its Latest Research in West Countries

With the development of the society and the improvement of peoples' living standard, sport tourism gradually becomes one of the most important parts of the popular healthy lifestyle. As a new product in the tourism market, sport tourism is based on the sport resources, used various kinds of sport events to plan, design and mix as the relevant products, which can arouse the consumption desire and demand of the people, and meanwhile it's a new form which can make them participate in the sport and get the natural experiences. Sport tourism is not only one of the simple forms of tourism, which is also a thrifty field that makes the tourism industry and sport industry develop together. In China, sport tourism is just at its beginning stage, but it's increasing rapidly with the high rate of 30%-40% per year. Beijing has won the 2008 Olympiad Games bid, which does better to improve the peoples' participation consciousness and supply a good opportunity for the sport tourism industry development. On the other hand, the research on the theory of sport tourism doesn't gain enough attention, compared the research level with the west countries, China has a long way to go. The article goes through the literature overview, introduces the latest research on sport tourism in west countries, discusses the definition, contents, characteristics and functions of sport tourism, and according to the development of sport tourism in China, the article simply analyzes the prospect of sport tourism in China.
