An Analysis of the Status of Water Resources in China

Fresh water is a natural resource, and at the same time, a scanty resource. As a result of a weak consciousness of water-saving among people, serious waste of water, low efficiency of water use in industrial and agricultural productions, environmental pollution, and over-exploitation of groundwater, scarcity of water resource in China is serious. Water resource scarcity has been one of the key factors retarding the economic growth and building of a well-off society in an all-round way. So,it is primarily important and very urgent to improve the efficiency of water use and enhance the public's consciousnesses of water-saving and environmental protection in order to better the status of water resource scarcity in China.
