OVERVIEW OF THE SHANGHAI GOLD EXCHANGE IN APRIL 2014

In April 2014, the Shanghai Gold Exchange （SGE） saw transactions with a total value of 308.649 billion yuan, down 46.13% year-on-year. In April, gold was traded 911019.24 kilograms in SGE, down 27.55% year-on-year; the trading value of gold stood at 236.844 billion yuan, down 35.20% year-on-year; and its average daily turnover was 43381.86 kilograms. Platinum traded in April totaled 5138 kilograms, down 42.37% year-on-year; the trading value of platinum was 1.542 billion yuan, down 44.69% year-on-year;
