Accessing Qingdao Museum

Qingdao Museum,which was established in 2000,is a comprehensive,multi-purpose modern museum that covers a land area of 20,000 square meters,has 13 exhibition halls and integrates history,art and culture.The museum has a collection of more than 160,000 cultural relics of more than 30 varieties such as calligraphy, paintings,ceramics,bronze,jade,coins,oracle bones,bamboo and ivory wares.Calligraphy and paintings, ceramics,jade and coins are the characteristic collections of Qingdao Museum.Among them,the Stone Buddha statue of the Northern Wei Dynasty,the Junyao ripple nail drum washing,and Dao Zang of the Ming Dynasty are the most treasured items in the collection of Qingdao Museum.The fixed exhibitions of the museum are comprised of seven parts,covering the important historic events of Qingdao which could be traced back to the Neolithic period and extending to the period before Qingdao City was established.As a result Qingdao Museum is a window to display the Chinese national culture and Qingdao’s regional historic civilization was well as a bridge linking the Chinese and foreign culture and cultural relics communication.
