Preliminary study on the relation between the urbanization of littoral development zones and the urban-rural income gap: Beilun case

As rising industrial urban areas, littoral development zones play an important role in absorbing surplus rural labor force, whose urbanization is a crucial route for the purpose of urban-rural integration. However, at the early stages of the urbanization, the urban-rural income gap will probably widen. In this paper, it is first given a special model dealing with the relation between the urbanization of littoral development zones and the urban-rural income gap, illustrated by the case of Beilun, and then a developing mode is proposed on how to accelerate the urban-rural integration as the urbanization of development zones develops.
