The Role of Duty Free in Global Marketing

Abstract:The Duty Free market has emerged as one of the few examples of a significant segment within the global market which is also independent of traditional boundaries. This article traces the development of the market. It then argues that the major Duty Free players need to reconsider how that segment fits within their marketing plans and organisational structures. The paper concludes with three possible action points for consideration.
