Abstract: | Norman Tebbit is spending vast sums on palliatives for youth employment. Minimum wage legislation may be responsible for nearly 40 per cent of youth unemployment in Britain. Canada suggests that unemployment must result if the labour market is prevented from accommodating population change through state-imposed rigidities which prevent changes in the price of labour. |
