Ithas the function and significance of scientific research, ecologicalprotection, popular science education, identification and protectionof cultural heritage resources and enjoyment for the public.The article summarized the development of dark sky protectionactivities, reviewed the research and practice of dark sky park, andanalyzed the preparations for the construction of the InternationalDark Sky Park, the dark sky protection plan, the education andoutreach of dark sky park, and sustainable development, introduceddomestic practice cases in details and the practice dilemma inChina, and proposed some suggestions for localization developmentof dark sky park.
