Abstract: | Air travel preferences of the general public are examined from a household survey in the Charnwood Borough Council area of Leicestershire, within the East Midlands region of the UK. Survey analysis shows that individuals frequently fly using low-cost airlines for leisure purposes, and often travel long distances to access airports. The price sensitivity of respondents to changes in air fares varies across the sample. Most respondents agree that there are both economic benefits and environment disbenefits associated with aviation. |
