Ethical economics A new paradigm for global justice and stewardship

Economics must return to its roots, which lie in ethics and moral philosophy. Key economic issues today are essentially moral ones—unemployment, income inequality, environmental damage—thus rendering a new ethical economics paradigm an urgent requirement. In this article the specific elements of an ethical framework are considered, and the items on the humane, ethical economic policy agenda are outlined.
