Study on the Development and Management Model of Yalong Bay Holiday-making Resort, Sanya and Its Enlightenment

Yalong Bay Holiday-making Resort is the only one that adopts the model of enterprise-dominant development and operation among 12 national resorts in our country. Yalong Bay model is of positive and exemplary significance to the exploration and innovation of the development and management of resorts in the new period. The paper, based on in-depth case study investigations and interviews, analyzes the key characteristics of Yalong Bay model; e.g., enterprise-dominant development, limited involvement of government, and cooperation between developers and the government. The study helps to determine the power boundary between the government and enterprises in the development and their respective roles so as to construct more scientific and effective administrative structure. Meanwhile, the paper points out the problems existing in the operation and discusses the function and applicability of this model to the successful development of Yalong Bay.
