| Abstract: | China's homegrown 3G wireless standard, TD- SCDMA, has made its debut at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Nearly 100,000 volunteers are now using the TD-SCDMA mobile phones provided by China Mobile, the operator of the TD-SCDMA standard. Services coming under the glow of the Olympic torch include push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) services, an official Olympics WAP site, wireless video and photo transmission and wireless access to the sporting results system.
