Rebirth of Zhejiang Business

Every time news of another financial crisis comes out of Zhejiang public opinion tends to turn their focus on external policy issues concerning macrocconomic regulation and private enterprise loans instead of focusing on the internal risk factors related to enterprises themselves. The Research Department of China Entrepreneur Magazine spent 20 days in Zhejiang interviewing entrepreneurs, lawyers, court officials, creditors and other relevant parties and experts concerning Zhejiang’s financial situation. After reviewing the restructuring cases of nearly ten different enterprises we discovered that a majority of the reasons these companies fell into debt were due to internal factors; corporate governance being the worse offender. We also found that once these corporations underwent bankruptcy restructuring and had their debt, business structure, management system systematically reformed this upgrade to their corporate governance gave them to the ability to better handle external risk factors and maintain their operations.
