Tracing the history of economic thoughts in western countries,ancient economic thoughts used to be regarded as one part of ethics.Moral philosophy has never been eliminated even in classical economics.It is along with the technicalization,axiomatization,and the adoption of science in economics that the mainstream economics of the 20th century gradually lost its moral interest.However,so long as economics is to ponder and explain the realistic problems,it has to go deep into the ethic issues behind economic formulas.Based on the understanding,some ethical interests in renaissance economics have become the trend of thought in modern times.Under such a historical background,Amartya Sen,the Nobel Prize winner of economics in 1998,set off a "revolution" of reviving a union of economics and ethics,and the reconstruction of an ethical dimension in economics.
