Variable output elasticities and technique-specific technical progress: A method of measurement

The possibility of accounting for technique specific technical progress in an econometric production function is raised. In addition the validity of the assumption of constant output elasticities over input combinations is questionned and tested using aggregate U.S. industrial data. There appears to be considerable variation in output elasticities over different techniques of production.
