A Tentative Discussion on the Relationship of the Classical Production Functions and the Economic Growth Theories

The structures and characters of the aggregate production functions are important to the models of the economic growth theories. By introducing and analyzing the forms of the classical production functions and the models of the economic growth theories, we can come to the conclusion that the characters of economic growth theories depend on the forms and characters of the production functions. Then, we find the relationship among classical production functions through analyzing the elasticity of substitution and the rate of technical substitution. In the end, we discuss preliminarily the significance of the elasticity of substitution and the rate of technical substitution in the economic growth, and briefly evaluate the relationship between the production functions and the economic growth models.
