Abstract: | This paper considers the problems confronting the feedmill industry in Nigeria as among the structural distortions of the macroeconomy. It identifies lapses and inconsistencies in government policies which serve as modifying factors in the operation of the industry. Some policy measures capable of boosting the activities of the feedmill industry are suggested including tariff structures, tax holidays and tax relief, provision of adequate storage facilities, exemption from excise tax and a proper linkage between research and the feedmill industry. |
