全能银行范围经济的实证分析

从实证角度分析全能银行范围经济的存在。通过收入增长模型实证并回归检验了全能银行的范围经济特性,并计量出其范围经济系数,得到全能银行存在范围经济的有力证据。实践中对全球著名五家全能银行进行回归分析,并拟合中国自己的全能银行进行回归验证,得到拟合程度非常高的回归检验结果。由此得出结论:中国是可以发展自己的全能银行的,不仅具有现实基础且可产生显著的范围经济。

The Empirical Study on the Economy of Scope with Universal Banking

The basic regulatory framework for the world financial services industry has been in place for 90 years in the face of the profound changes in the economic environment,the structure of the national and international financial markets,and the constantly rising technologies.Many banks have figured out that the only way to survive in this changing industry is to become universal banks by integrating different financial businesses.The most important advantage of universal banking may produce economies of scope.By comparing the universal banks in America,England,Germany,Japan,such as Citigroup,Mizuho Corporate bank,Ltd.,HSBC Holding,Deutsche Bank,based on the income growth model testing the economies of scope of the universal banking,the paper finds the strong evidence of supply-related economies of scope between lending and fee-earning.It also finds the revenue-or demand-related economies of scope and concludes that universal banking has greater coefficient economies of scope than the specialized banks.The findings show that large-size universal banking is linked to the ability to undertake major transactions,which can be linked to portfolio diversification for economies of scope.Therefore,China should turn the commercial banks into universal banks as soon as possible.
