孔子的奖励观

在许多人心目中,孔子大概就是一个满口仁义说教、耻于乃至反对言利的所谓圣人。这实在是对孔子的一种偏见。孔子不是道学家,他期望人们重视提高道德修养,但他从未想过也不曾为人们竖起难以跨越的标杆。他的道德期求总是以大众不难接受和易于做到为尺度,或者说,他希望人们做的,无非就是于己无损而又有利于人的好事。

Confucius' Notion of Reward

In the mind of many people, Confucius was a so-called sage who ,only proposed benevolence andopposed courting fame and fortune. This, in fact, is a kind of prejudice against Confucius. What he advocated was that people should do things that were not harmful to themselves and could be helpful to others.
