Strategies for reducing fat in the UK diet

Abstract:This article examines the risks associated with the levels of fat consumption found in the UK. The major sources of fat in the UK diet are identified and the authors outline a number of strategies by which a useful reduction in fat intake may be achieved. The changes proposed involve only minor modification to existing food habits but would result in substantial public health benefits and would have valuable economic effects by reducing food production costs and through import savings.
