Based on review of the developing trend of MDI producing process and its market supply and demand situation both at home and abroad, this paper held that as one of the important organic material varieties, MDI had an optimistic prospect in China. It was pointed out that in the current MDI production processes, conventional phosgene route generates pollution to the environment. Therefore, non-phosgene Synthesis of MDI should be the research direction in the future to win sustainable development of human beings.
