Best Buy Closes China Stores

The world's largest appliance retailer Best Buy has closed all the 9 stores in Chinese mainland recently.This seems to signal foreign retailers' drastic strategy adjustment in China,and has aroused certain degree of panic and doubt from the public.Best Buy originally plans to launch a brand new strategy in China by opening 50 Five Star outlets and conducting electronic business in replacement of the 9 stores.Best Buy finished the acquisition of Jiangsu Five Star Appliance Co.,Ltd.in 2009,and operates under double brands,behind which is the apparent secret that the Five Star outlets make considerable profit while Best Buy has been suffering constant losses.Therefore,closing all the 9 stores in China is no more than a step for strategy adjustment.In fact,Best Buy also closed the experimental stores in Turkey.But why has the move sparkled guesses in China? Nevertheless,it somehow does reveal the difficulty Best Buy is faced with in China.
