英汉思维模式差异与英汉翻译

汉语民族和英语民族的思维模式有一定差异：汉语民族思维以综合见长，呈现非线性和螺旋推理式特征；英语民族思维以分析见长，呈现因果关系的线性特征。不同的思维模式在相当程度上影响到语言表达和文章结构，翻译要达到不同思维模式的转化。在英汉翻译实践中，可通过抽象和具体之间的转换、长句拆分、语序调整、被动句和主动句的转译等方式来实现汉语思维模式和英语思维模式的相互转化，以符合目的语读者的思维和表达习惯。

Differences of Thinking Modes between English and Chinese and E-C Translation

There are some differences in thinking modes between Chinese and English： Chinese tend to think in inductive ways, with non-linear and spiral reasoning curve as the characteristics, while English people are more inclined to think analytically, taking cause-effect relation and linear features. Different thinking modes affect language expression and structure to a certain degree, so the aim of translation is to realize the transformation between thinking modes. In the translating practices, thinking modes can be transferred to conform to target language thinking mode and expression through transformation between the abstract and the concrete, segmentation of long sentences, adjustment of sentence order, transformation between passive sentence and active sentence.
