20世纪80年代末90年代初，世界社会主义运动遭遇严重挫折，东欧剧变、苏联解体。在此非常时期，在邓小平社会主义观指导下中国社会主义仍然以昂扬的姿态蓬勃发展，与苏联解体形成鲜明对比。这一对比启示我们，21世纪的世界社会主义运动要取得突破性发展，共产党就必须在实践中体现社会主义的价值，必须始终代表人民群众的根本利益，必须坚持对社会主义认识的与时俱进。

Deng Xiaoping's Socialism View and Socialism Movements in the 21st Century

The world socialism movements suffered serious setbacks in the late 80s and the early 90s in the 20th century, such as the drastic changes in Eastern Europe and the disintegration of the Soviet Union. However, in this critical moment, the Chinese socialism is developing vigorously. This is a strong contrast with the disintegration of the Soviet Union.This gives us a good revelation that the Communist Party must embody socialism value in practice, must always represent the basic benefits of the people, and must keep understanding socialism along with the time changes if the world socialism movements wants to develop significantly.
