Investigation on Quality of Newly Harvested Paddy in Jiangsu Province

In order to understand the quality status of newly harvested paddy in Jiangsu Province in 2020,1252 samples covering major grain-producing counties(cities)in Jiangsu Province were selected as test samples,which were tested and analyzed according to the indexes specified in GB 1350—2009 Paddy and GB/T 17891—2017 High Quality Paddy.The results showed that the newly harvested paddy accounted for 99.4%of the third-class and above,the average husked rice yield of japonica rice was 82.0%,the average head rice yield was 67.8%,the average moisture content was 14.4%,the average unsound kernel rate was 2.8%,the average rate of husked rice in paddy was 1.2%,and the average rate of other kind of paddy was 0.6%.There are 69 paddy samples that meet the third-class requirements of the national standard of High Quality Paddy,accounting for 21.4%of the total number of samples.Overall,the overall quality and high-quality rate of newly harvested paddy in Jiangsu in 2020 have been improved compared with previous years.The main high-quality varieties are Huajing series,Nanjing series,Huaidao No.5,Jinjing 818,Suxiu 867,Fengliangyouxiang No.1 and Liangyou 688.
