在1934年“闲话扬州”事件中，《闲话扬州》一书的作者易君左究竟为何激怒扬州人？本文通过对《闲话扬州》的时空观分析，指出其基于现代性的时空观导致了时间分割与空间区隔的叙事效果，从而构成了对扬卅1的现代性批判，并对扬州的地方性带来了冲击。当地社区试图通过现代性话语和民族国家语境的引入，从而反驳易君左的现代性批判，并重建地方性。

Modernity,Strangers,and Locality:Focusing on the Incident of"Idle Talk on Yangzhou'in 1934

In the incident of ＂Idle Talk on Yangzhou＂ in 1934, what was it that enraged the Yangzhou people？ Through analysis of Idle talk, the author points out that the modern conception of time and space led to a special narrative which constituted a modernity-featured criticism of Yangzhou and made inroads on its locality. Local communities, through the introduction of modernity discourse and the nation-state context, tried to refute this criticism and rebuild their local identity.
