| Abstract: | On the basis of overall introduction of the world＇s major transnational interconnected electric systems including the UCTE, the NORDEL, the IPS/UPS, the Mediterranean Interconnection, the SAPP and the North American Bulk Power System, this paper summarizes the plans and studies of the major transnational interconnections as well as the development trends, and it also analyzes the choice of the manner for the transnational power interconnection, the role of the transnational power interconnection in the optimized allocation of energy resources and the integration of renewable energies in the interconnected grids. |
