The paper analyzes theory basis and function localization of government promoting the agricultural standardization, and draws the conclusion that the government intervention is the inherent request for agricultural standardization It displays its function mainly in the system supplies and the pubic service, peasant households and the enterprises formulate standards as the leadership under the laws and regulations. In the promotin agriculture standardization process, Chinese government should reasonably limit its function scope, and devote to consummate laws, regulations system, examinaton system and better agricultural standard information, consultation and training services.
