Closed-loop Supply Chains Management--Managerial Innovation on Meeting WEEE EU Directive in Our Electronic Industries

As the WEEE EU directive enacted in 2003, the thorny problems on the recycle and reuse of WEEE emerge thoroughly and make a great impact on the global electronic industries. To meet the requirements of this directive, our electronic industries need take a new philosophy on management, which is closed-loop supply chains management. Under the new management philosophy, all of the members in the supply chains must cooperate with each other to deal with the WEEE recycle and reuse, not only the original suppliers, manufacturers and retailers, but also the recyclers and reprocessers. This paper introduces the closed-loop supply chains management, and analyzes the challenge and opportunities in deep. At last, some effective proposals are offered for our electronic industries.
