认知语言学对外语教学的启示

摘    要:认知语言学是从认知的角度来研究语言的一门学科,兴起于20世纪80年代的美国和欧洲,处于语言研究的前沿。在语言教育实践中,这种研究方法及相关理论给外语教学带来了许多新思路、新方法。在大学英语教学中积极借鉴认知语言学的相关理论,使学生有意识地关注语言学习中的范畴理论、原型理论、隐喻概念、图形与背景理论和图式理论等,对于促进英语教学和英语学习具有重要的意义。

Abstract:Congnitive linguistics is a new branch of study which investigates language from a congitive appproach. Rising in the U. S. A. and Euorope in the 1980s, it has got firmly institutionalized and developed into a systematic academic descipline, which, as predicted, will be a focus in the 21st century linguistic study. As a new approach of linguistic study, connitive linguistics brings new light to foreign language teaching pracitice. Active borrowing of theoretical insights in cognitive linguistics and bringing to the students consciousness the congitive notions of categorization, prototype, figure and ground and schema will facilitate foreign language teaching and learning.
