Some evidence in defense of the vehicle currency hypothesis |

| Abstract: | The role of the dollar as a vehicle currency has been questioned by reference to patterns of trade invoicing. Here it is shown that a cross-section of country dollar holdings can be explained by reference to trade patterns. |
