Abstract Productivity is the force to conquer nature and to reform society. The highest layer of productivity is social productivity, while the central layer is economic productivity and the lowest layer is labour productivity. Productivity is the unification of the three layers. The development motives of productivity is a system. The essential motive to develop productivity is the inner contradiction in labour productivity. Subject, object and the relationship of production are the three elements to determine the development of productivity.
