试论教育的文化使命

当代社会以其前所未有的物质繁荣，极大地满足了人类的物质欲求。然而，紧随其后的还有环境的污染和资源的匮乏，以及同时带来的渐渐消弭着的人类的精神追求和世界文化危机。教育是文化进步的基本力量。作为改善人类处境的一支重要的力量，教育应当肩负起新的文化使命：探索世界丈化前景、回归人类精神家园、重构人类价值追求、缓和世界生存危机以及促进人类和平事业。

On the cultural mission of education

The unprecedented material civilization greatly meets the demands of mankind. However, it brings about environmental pollution, lack of resources and declining spiritual pursuit as well as cultural crisis throughout the world. Education is the fundamental force to push forward cultural progress. As an important force to improve the situation of human beings, education should shoulder new cultural missions, that is, to seek the outlook of global culture, return the spiritual home of mankind, reconstruct mankind's value pursuit, ease the crisis of existence and promote the undertaking of peace.
