The Origin and Evolution of Knowledge-Based Theory of Firm

The knowledge-based theory of firm originates theoretically from the search of inner competitive advantage of firm. Beyond the resource-based view of firm and capabilities -based view of firm, this view holds that the competitive advantage originates from the tacit knowledge in the firm. The knowledge-based theory of firm not only provides a core concept to explain and expect the conducts of firms, but also has management meanings in practice of promoting competitive advantage of firms.
