以全国和东中西部实际GDP的增长率为变量,本文建立了一个向量自回归模型,脉冲响应函数结果表明,东中西三地区对全国总体经济增长冲击的响应没有显著区别,经济增长并不必然导致地区间收入差距的拉大,在保持总体经济持续增长的同时,辅以适宜的区域政策,能使收入差距得以缩小,鱼与熊掌可以兼得.

Economic Growth and Income Disparity Reduction in China:Can We Have the Cake and Eat It too

This paper investigates the relationship between economic growth and regional disparities using a VAR model with national and regional GDP growth rates. The impulse response functions show that the responses of coastal to a shock to the national GDP growth is not significant different from those of the central and western. The conclusion is that the income disparity can be reduced while economic growth is sustained.
