Mental Translation:An Effective Foreign Language Learning Strategy

The results of the questionnaire survey of students from different English levels show that students generally think that "mental translation" is an effective learning strategy.Learners of different language proficiency all have the habit of using L1 thinking in their reading and writing practices.Accordingly,teachers should encourage students to use "mental translation" as a strategy for communicating and learning.
