| 摘 要： | 汉语的“字”对外来概念的翻译产生着独特的影响:“字”的表义性使得外来概念的意译名更易为汉语社团所接受;汉语组字成词时对语义互容性和语义透明性的要求也导致了对一些外来概念的误译和误读。认识到汉语“字”的特质,有助于译者进行更加理性的翻译活动。

| Abstract: | This paper explores the influence of Zi on the translation of foreign concepts. For one thing, the ideographic nature of Zi makes the liberal translation of foreign concepts more acceptable than the transliteration. For another, the semantic compatibility and transparency in Zi grouping make some foreign concepts vulnerable to mistranslation and misreading. The awareness of the attributes of Zi will help translators perform more sensibly in translation. |
