Wan Long's Trouble

The recent Shuanghui scandal is more than the crisis of clenbuterol. It re? ects the lack of honesty on food security, and furthermore, how outdated some of the entrepreneurs are in the cybertimes. The 71-year-old entrepreneur Wan Long has worked with Shuanghui Group for 43 years. During these years, based in Luohe of Henan Province, Shuanghui has grown from a small bankruptcy-threatened state-owned factory into an enterprise group with over 5 billion yuan of annual sales, China’s largest meat product supplier, and the world’s top three in meat production. Accordingly, Wan Long has been promoted from an of fice clerk to the President of Shuanghui Group. Wan Long enjoys his nickname as "China’s Top Leader of Butchers". He defi nitely has deep love for Shuanghui, and now he is making all the efforts to save Shuanghui from falling into the abyss caused by the "clenbuterol incident".
