A unified approach to optimal process control

Summary In this paper a unified approach to optimal process control is developed, which leads to relatively simple and rather general objective functions for optimization. These two features “simplicity” and “generality” are the basis for the development of powerful algorithms and nomograms to determine approximately optimal solutions.
