| Abstract: | Adoption involves the process by which the existing par ents cease to be the legal parents of the child and the adopters are substituted for the parents as if the child was born to them. There are so many reasons for adoption,such as inability to conceive,parents not wanting a child,and inability to provide circumstances essential for the child's healthy development.However,as the number of children available for adoption in New Zealand decreases, an increas ing number of couples look to overseas countries to adopt. Therefore,the transnational adoptions are becoming common. |
