Clarifying Misunderstandings About China’s Foreign Aid

Since the new century,especially since 2004,China’s outbound foreign aid has been booming and the scale and scope of its aid have kept expanding,thus drawing extensive attention from the international community.Is it only recently that China began its foreign aid? Is its foreign aid a kind of neo-colonialism in recipient countries? Does its aid hamper the development of recipient countries? And is its foreign aid aimed at expelling Western countries from targeted nations? These questions have attracted much attention from Western media and have even caused their misunderstanding in recent years.This paper aims to make some clarifications on all these issues one by one.
