| Abstract: | The Xiaoling Cao Genealogy is a historical book of special historical value especially for the study of the Xuan Paper. It records for the later generations the management of the Paper, the distribution of its producing area, and important personages and major events in the development of the Paper. It also arouses our reflections on questions about the Xiaoling Cao ’s complying historically with the unwritten family precepts through generations and effectively keeping secret the workmanship of the Xuan Paper over a long period of time. |
