In this article the impact of technology education, as a new learning area (subject) in the curriculum, on in-service teacher education in South Africa is described in order to ascertain the extent of the impact. The research on which this article is based draws on a variety of experiences and observations in the field at grassroots level (in particular an outreach project in rural communities). The envisaged impact of technology education on South African schools, communities, teacher educators and teachers, the range of in-service teacher education that is required, and the impacts in urban and rural areas are discussed. Finally a number of concluding remarks are made about the extent of the impact of the inclusion of technology education in the new National Curriculum Statement and whether the situation has changed since the implementation of a pilot technology education project in 1998. 以CGSS2006抽样调查数据为基础,对我国城乡教育发展差距和居民收入差距之间的关系进行了实证分析。研究发现:我国城乡居民收入差距和教育发展差距都十分显著,居民受教育程度与其获得的收入水平之间具有高度的正相关性,此外,“受教育程度”因素已经成为仅次于“有事业心和进取心”因素的影响居民事业成功的第二大关键因素。因此,长期以来我国城乡教育发展上的差距必然是造成我国当前城乡居民收入差距产生和扩大的一个主要原因,要想解决我国城乡居民收入差距问题,必须首先解决城乡教育发展的不均衡性问题。  相似文献

2008年,以起始于美国的金融危机为导火索,中国出现了大规模的农民工返乡潮。农民工返乡给就业形势原本就十分严峻的农村带来新的压力。如何做好返乡农民工的就业问题就显得尤为重要。而通过农民工创业教育培训提高农民工素质和就业技能,对于实现返乡农民工就业和推动新农村建设具有积极的推进作用。文章以农民工返乡为背景,结合我国农民教育培训发展的现状,探讨如何加强农民工创业教育培训问题,并提出具体的对策建议。  相似文献

It appears that programme development in technology education is emerging from an atheoretical perspective. This could be attributed to the absence/neglect of conceptual frameworks (philosophical underpinning) in the development of programmes in technology education. This article explores the role of the content dimension of the 'essential features' of technology and technology education in OBE (Outcomes Based Education) related programme development. An instructional programme was developed using criteria derived from the essential features of technology and technology education. In order to gauge learners' experience, in relation to these essential features, a qualitative case study involving 20 learners was undertaken at a College of Education. Engagement with theprogramme proved to be an empowering experience for the learners who had hitherto not had the opportunity to experience a formal programme in technology education. Although it could not be proved conclusively that cognitive development had occurred, positive inter-dependence,shared responsibility, social skills and enhanced learning were evident. The study has shown that criteria derived from the 'essential features' of technology and technology education could serve as a reliable yardstick to measure the extent of learning in relation to these essential features  相似文献

The focus of this paper is students’ design productions as they engaged in designing and making a windmill model to lift a given weight. This work is part of a project on the development of design and technology (D&;T) education units and its trials among Indian middle school students (Grade 6, age 11–14 years) in different socio-cultural settings. Since D&;T is not a part of the Indian school curriculum, the students had no earlier experience of design. Our trials included an exploratory phase followed by groups of students producing technical drawings and a plan for the making action (procedural map) before engaging in making the windmill model. The paper presents findings from a qualitative analysis of urban and rural students’ pencil and paper productions, complemented by observations from video recordings of the collaborative engagement of these naïve designers. Students used graphical symbols, analogical, spatial and functional reasoning in their design activities. Choice of materials and tools, the nature of exploratory sketches, variety in design and attentions to issues of stability showed differences between the urban and rural groups. Some potential implications of D&;T units for classroom learning have also been discussed.  相似文献

Telecommunications access in the rural and remote areas of Australia has come under considerable scrutiny in recent years. In the past decade, various Federal Government reports and inquiries have citied inadequate infrastructure, lack of service provision, the high cost of access and “thin” markets as key impediments. Whilst these difficulties are not restricted to rural and remote Australia, they tend to impact disproportionately on regional communities, notably in education and health service provision. Particularly at risk are the indigenous communities in rural and remote regions of Australia.In this paper telecommunications infrastructure is perceived as the lynch-pin for achieving sustainable economic and social development. It is suggested that without appropriate development of information infrastructure, the disparities already experienced by rural and remote communities will be further exacerbated as the reliance of goods and services over computer-mediated networks increases.The paper offers a new paradigm that will assist in maintaining a competitive telecommunications environment and facilitate the sustainable social and economic development of rural and remote communities.  相似文献

可持续消费是人类消费模式发展的必然选择。传统不舍理的消费模式浪费自然资源、加重环境污染并导致人性扭曲,给社会发展带来一系列问题与危机。从人与自然的关系、自然与社会的关系以及人与人的关系等方面来看,可持续消费有利于和谐社会的构建。需要采取加强消费教育、实施扩大消费规模和实现可持续消费并举的调控政策、支持绿色生态产品供给、加大广告传媒治理等措施,来推广可持续消费,以促进和谐社会建设。  相似文献
