The purpose of this paper is to investigate elderly choices and behaviors in financial services markets. A systematic review of a five-decade period (1970–2019) of academic research in the marketing field was carried out in order to identify elderly consumers’ decisions regarding financial asset management and legacy, highlighting the main findings of extant research and practical implications for marketers. Results shed light on financial asset management in terms of welfare, retirement planning, and investments for old age, as well as legacy practices in terms of special possessions, charities, and rites of passage. The study underlines the need to consider the heterogeneous nature of elderly consumers’ values and lifestyles in designing strategies for financial services and products, emphasizing that demographic differences alone are not adequate to effectively define market segments. Furthermore, the role of mixed marketing approaches considering elderly choices are discussed, together with implications for companies that want to target such consumer target.

文化养老关注老年人的精神和情感需求,是我国优秀传统文化与当代人文关怀的有机融合。选取长春市老年居民消费及收入相关数据并利用门限回归模型,实证分析收入水平与老年人文化消费之间的影响效应。研究结果表明,长春市老年人文化消费与收入水平之间存在明显的非线性特征,不同收入阶层老年人的文化消费偏好存在差异;老年人个体异质性对其文化消费存在显著影响。因此,要有效推动长春市老年人文化产业的发展,一方面,应注意挖掘低收入群体老年人的文化消费潜力,设计符合该群体老年人文化消费特点的产品,并施以政策支持;另一方面,更加注重高收入组群老年人个体异质性对其文化消费的影响,设计满足其个性化文化消费需求的产品,从而满足老人们日益增长的精神需求,提高老年人的生活质量。  相似文献

Customers have increased expectations of being offered the right products, at the right time and for the right reasons. Demographics and affluence have always been the backbone of segmentation tools, but is this still sufficient to meet the challenges that today's marketers face? This paper is a review of how customer segmentation has evolved within the financial services market and the corresponding demand for consumer information. 养老保障应是一个全面的完整的老年人支持体系。"经济支持、生活照料和精神慰藉"是养老的三个基本内容。本文利用国内相关的实证材料和研究以及国外相关的理论和经验对我国老年精神保障的三个争议焦点——现阶段需不需要保、保什么和谁来保进行分析和讨论:(1)需要的满足并不只取决于经济发展水平,还取决于一个社会的文化价值观念和社会发展状况。快速转型所带来的文化和社会结构尤其是家庭结构的变迁削弱了我国传统的老年人精神支持模式。我们应该建立精神保障系统以维护老年人的生存健康和生活质量;(2)老年人是由不同年龄、性别、收入和教育程度等组成的群体,老年人的基本精神需要的界定需建立在社会福利的视角下——适度的、具备一定条件的需要,且与一定的文化和社会结构相适应;(3)结合对福利多元各极在我国老年人精神支持中的作用和现状的分析,我们现阶段应建立一个政府主导的多种社会力量参与的老年精神保障体系。  相似文献

Structured products combine elementary instruments from the spot and derivative markets. The existing evidence on mature markets shows that structured products are commonly charged with large implicit premiums compared to their theoretical values. However, this paper finds that structured products in Chinese market are, on average, priced closely to their theoretical values, which no longer favors the issuing institution. This is reasonable as the issuing banks' market power in China is relatively low compared to those in mature markets, given three characteristics in Chinese market (the intense competition from Internet finance, strict short-sell constraints, and the lack of secondary market as well as redeemable claims). Specifically, based on a database including 126 structured products with various underlying assets and durations from two main structured products issuing banks in China, this paper finds two more interesting results. First, structured products with call option and double option components are generally issued at a small discount, while most structured products with put options components are issued at a small premium. Second, a significantly negative correlation is also found between implicit premium and duration, indicating that the implicit premium rates of short-term products are higher than those of long-term products. Overall, these findings suggest that issuing banks' market power is weakened by the competitive market and incomplete market structure.  相似文献

This paper examines how and how well do leading economists forecast stock market returns. This question is fundamental in finance, since the Capital Asset Pricing foundation rests upon assumptions about the properties of investors' expectations for stock market returns. The results reveal that economists' expectations of market returns as exemplified in Livingston's data do not meet the necessary conditions of efficiency. It should be noted however, that in later period some improvement in the quality of economists' forecasts was observed.  相似文献

入境旅游客源市场的快速发展是我国入境旅游业发展的重要源泉。本文以来华外国旅游流作为分析对象,运用地理集中指数、客源市场竞争态模型等分析方法,定量研究了2001—2011年我国入境旅游客源市场的特征。结果表明:我国入境旅游核心客源市场分别是韩国、日本、俄罗斯、美国。其中,日俄美三国市场占有率总体呈现下降趋势;韩日美三国市场增长率总体也呈现下降趋势;2002—2011年我国入境旅游客源市场竞争格局处于不断变化中,且变化较大;我国入境旅游客源市场在空间上主要集中在幼童市场和瘦狗市场,而在明星市场和金牛市场的分布则较少。  相似文献

Given the significance of the elderly consumer market in the development of successful and comprehensive marketing strategies, it is imperative that marketing decision-makers and policymakers better understand and respond to the varied needs of this significant consumer segment. The management of financial matters is important at every juncture in life, but particularly so for the elderly. This area of concern is exacerbated when considering the large number of elderly in poverty or near-poverty levels of existence. On the basis of the extant literature review, most consumer education programs focus on young consumers. As the population ages, the societal role of the mature market becomes more and more significant. A well-developed consumer financial initiative designed to assist this important market segment can generate tremendous dividends in both the short- and long-run for sponsoring institutions/business organizations. Consumer financial education programs offer considerable promise for this market sector. Given this state of affairs, the article's key objective is to offer an integrative conceptual platform to address some of major concerns in developing and implementing consumer financial education programs for the elderly poor. The conceptual model details the mechanics of constructing and executing effective financial education initiatives for the elderly poor, with the attendant marketing management implications.  相似文献

考察2009~2011年我国银行理财消费市场发展的现状并利用经验数据对影响其发展的主要原因进行了实证分析,研究表明:我国银行理财消费规模与股票市场收益率不存在显著关系,但居民可支配收入、物价水平都对银行理财市场的发展发挥了重要作用。此外,我国银行理财消费市场的发展还受到国家宏观经济政策的影响,尤其是当提高存款准备金率导致银行资金面紧张时,商业银行则通过提高收益率来刺激人们的理财消费需求。  相似文献
