城市圈建设过程中耕地保护AHP-SWOT分析及其策略选择——以湖北赤壁为例

研究目的:探讨城市圈建设过程中的耕地保护策略。研究方法:在实地调查的基础上,采用AHP-SWOT分析方法。研究结论:赤壁市耕地保护的自身优势有后备资源优势、异地占补平衡优势和法律制度保护优势等,相对劣势表现在耕地数量持续减少、耕地质量总体不高、产权不明晰、基层对耕地保护认识不足等,外部机遇有新一轮规划、三农问题备受重视、农业税的取消、农产品市场建设等,外部威胁来自城市圈建设占用耕地、退耕还林政策、农业结构调整、农产品比较收益较低等。AHP分析表明,城市圈建设占用耕地是最严重的外部威胁,耕地异地占补平衡则是要充分利用的自身优势,新一轮规划是推动赤壁市耕地保护的最佳外部机遇,耕地数量持续减少则是最不利的劣势。     

Scope versus speed: Team diversity,leader experience,and patenting outcomes for firms

Research Summary: How does the organization of patenting activity affect a firm's patenting outcomes? We investigate how the composition of patenting teams relates to both the scope of their patent applications and the speed with which their patents are approved, by examining the main effects of team members’ intra‐organizational diversity (based on affiliations with formal organizational units and informal organizational communities) and the moderating effects of team leader experience. We test our moderated mediation model in a sample of 121 teams that filed patents in a Fortune 50 company's India R&D center between 2005 and 2015, using proprietary employee data combined with newly released micro‐data from the U.S Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Our findings illuminate the micro‐foundations of innovation in firms by highlighting a trade‐off between organizing patenting activity to maximize scope versus speed. Managerial Summary: Patenting is an important strategic tool that firms can use to protect and create value from their innovations. A firm can benefit from filing a patent application that gives it a wider possible set of claims related to an innovation. It can also benefit from faster approval of a patent application by the Patent Office. However, our study shows that there is a trade‐off between patent application scope and patent approval speed, which creates tensions for the organization of patenting activities inside firms. In particular, we find that the diversity of a patenting team is positively related to patent scope but negatively related to patenting speed, and that these relationships vary with the experience of the team leader.     

Productive efficiency of English football teams—a data envelopment analysis approach

This paper investigates how close to their potential English Premier League Clubs play. Using a deterministic Data Envelopment Analysis Approach, the productive efficiency of 20 teams in the 2000/2001 season is measured and weaknesses of individual teams are disclosed. Service industries and regional development: An analysis for eastern Germany

By using a shift-share regression approach the contribution of services to the development of employment in eastern Germany is analysed. The results obtained with highly differentiated data from the employment statistics show that services contributed more to a favourable path of development than other industries. This is due in part to general world-wide processes of structural change and the special situation in eastern Germany. Many subsidies were transferred to the East, which stabilises the special segment of the economy related to local demand. This segment is made up mostly of services in eastern Germany. Processes of industrial change can be explained using structural change approaches. It is shown that processes of de-concentration play a role in explaining regional disparities, since inverse localisation and positive urbanisation effects are visible. For the empirical analyses an augmented approach is applied which uses a generalisation of an econometric analogue from the common shift-share method. It combines the strengths of the traditional approach with all the advantages of theory-oriented modelling and regression analysis.     

Foreign Banks in Transition Countries: To Whom Do They Lend and How Are They Financed?

We use focused interviews with managers of foreign parent banks and their affiliates in Central Europe and the Baltic States to analyze the small‐business lending and internal capital markets of multinational financial institutions. Our approach allows us to complement the standard empirical literature, which has difficulty in analyzing important issues such as lending technologies and capital allocation. We find that the acquisition of local banks by foreign banks has not led to a persistent bias in these banks' credit supply toward large multinational corporations. Instead, increased competition and the improvement of subsidiaries' lending technologies have led foreign banks to gradually expand into the SME and retail markets. Second, it is demonstrated that local bank affiliates are strongly influenced by the capital allocation and credit steering mechanisms of the parent bank.     

Health care reform: current updates and future initiatives for ambulatory care nursing

While the signing of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was a historical event marking the beginning of health care reform in the United States, it signaled the start of a golden age for ambulatory care nursing. Ambulatory care RNs are well-positioned to fully participate in health care reform initiatives. RNs are well-positioned to lead, facilitate, and/or participate in all patient care medical homes' and accountable care organizations' quality and safety initiatives through enhanced use of major ambulatory care RN role dimensions such as advocacy, telehealth, patient education, care coordination and transitional care, and community outreach. RNs are also well-positioned to provide patient-centered care, coordinate care, and manage transitions across ambulatory care settings. For the golden age of ambulatory care nursing to become a reality, initiatives surrounding competencies, education modules, and leadership must be addressed immediately.     

Strategic consensus mapping: A new method for testing and visualizing strategic consensus within and between teams

Research on strategic consensus focuses primarily on the extent of agreement among team members regarding organizational strategy. It does not include elements such as the content of the agreement, between‐group consensus, or the significance of differences in consensus (e.g., for evaluating the effectiveness of strategic interventions). We propose a new analytical approach, Strategic Consensus Mapping, that provides a comprehensive analysis of strategic consensus within and between groups and that includes intuitive and easy‐to‐understand visualizations. This approach offers researchers the necessary tools for integrative theory building in strategic consensus, as well as in the broader managerial and organizational cognition domain. Using a case example, we illustrate the proposed methods for a multidimensional, multilevel, and longitudinal analysis of strategic consensus. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
