Measuring the welfare costs of EU accessionThe case of VAT reform in Bulgaria

We analyze possible reforms to the Bulgarian VAT system, evaluating revenue-neutral reallocations of goods to tax bands within the existing 2-rate structure. We investigate the sensitivity of the results to behavioural response and imperfect tax recovery. We find only a weak case for the use of non-uniform VAT rate structures for redistributional purposes. Selective VAT exemptions can produce approximate welfare gains equivalent to a general price fall of much less than 1 per cent for plausible specifications of social welfare.

Optimal designs for generalized linear models with biased response

This paper is concerned with the search for locally optimal designs when the observations of the response variable arise from a weighted distribution in the exponential family. Locally optimal designs are derived for regression models in which the response follows a weighted version of Normal, Gamma, Inverse Gaussian, Poisson or Binomial distributions. Some conditions are given under which the optimal designs for the weighted and original (non-weighted) distributions are the same. An efficiency study is performed to find out the behavior of the D-optimal designs for the original distribution when they are used to estimate models with weighted distributions.

Consumer credit and monetary policy in Malaysia

What is the impact of monetary policy on the Malaysian consumer? The study addresses this issue by empirically investigating the consequences of interest rate shocks on consumer credit in Malaysia. The study relies on the impulse response functions and the variance decomposition analysis based on the structural Vector Auto‐regression methodology. Apart from analysing the responses of aggregate consumer loans (ACL) to interest rate changes, further disaggregation is made in efforts to arrive at more detailed findings. In particular, the ACL data are categorized into loans for purchase of residential property, loans for personal uses, loans for credit cards, loans for purchase of consumer durables, loans for purchase of passenger cars and loans for purchase of securities. Through this disaggregation, the study shows the relative sensitivity of the various types of consumer loans to interest rate shocks.     

基于AHP法的人民银行应急能力评估研究——以济南分行为例

应急评估是当前应急管理理论和实践中的热点和难点问题。本文针对人民银行应急评估工作现状和存在问题、总结国内外有关应急评估经验,以层次分析法(AHP)为基本方法,构建了以应急能力为核心指标的人民银行应急评估量化模型,并通过评估案例实证检验和分析了该模型的可行性和有效性。     

我国房地产价格影响因素及其作用效应的计量检验

目前,房地产价格的过快增长已经成为影响民生的突出问题,房地产价格的增长远远超过了居民消费和收入水平的增长。我国政府已经将遏制部分城市房价过快上涨势头、满足人民群众的基本住房需求、促进房地产市场平稳健康发展作为房地产市场的宏观调控目标。因此对房地产价格的影响因素进行实证研究,可以为我国宏观政策的制定与实施提供经验证据。     

基于Logistic回归模型的建材业上市公司财务预警研究

在当前房地产调控政策下,我国建材业上市公司面临着巨大的财务危机。论文对24家建材业上市公司2009年、2008年的财务指标进行了基于Logistic回归模型的财务预警实证分析,并利用上述模型及2010年的财务数据对样本公司2011年的财务状况进行了预测,继而给出了财务风险应对策略,以期我国建材业上市公司能够走出财务困境,走上健康发展的道路。     

城市住宅价格与宏观经济变量的关系分析——基于VAR模型的实证研究

通过分析选取住宅价格指数(HPI)、国内生产总值增长率(GDP)、1-3年期银行贷款利率(IR)作为内生变量,滞后两期的广义货币供应量(M2)作为外生变量,建立了向量自回归模型。并在此基础上,运用协整分析、脉冲响应函数、方差分解和格兰杰因果检验等研究方法对住宅价格指数与宏观经济变量之间的动态相关关系进行了研究。研究结果表明,我国的住宅价格与所选用的宏观经济变量之间存在一定交互响应作用,并就此提出了相关建议。
